.Bhor / Bhatghar Dam

I've been here several times:
♦ On the 8th of January, 2012 with an acquaintance;
♦ on the 14th of January, 2012 with my family members;
♦ on the 21st of April, 2012 with my ex-boyfriend;
♦ on the 9th of June, 2017 with another acquaintance;
♦ on the 25th of June, 2017 with a homosexual couple;
♦ on the 24th of September, 2018 with another acquaintance,
♦ on the 1st of January, 2019 with Manav & Rahul, and
♦ on the 26th of February, 2019 alone...

It's a very beautiful place to visit pre / post-monsoon. I have no idea why I called this Manas Sarovar, probably because I read a board there in the yesteryears.

The drive is around 50 KMs from Pune, and the road is very good now. That wasn't the case until recently. You take the right turn from under the bridge that comes after the Balaji-temple's-turn-which-you-don't-take.

Like I said, pre and post-monsoon is the best time to visit this place, as the dam water is fuller, the climate is cooler, and the mountains are greener. However, you can visit here any time that you wish to. Just avoid going to restricted areas, if any, for your safety and to avoid interfering with others' property.

I've spotted some really beautiful and rare birds there, the photos of which can be found in my Facebook albums. It is just beautiful to see nature, greenery, mountains, hills, the dam and its water. You simply cannot get enough of this place. Since January 2019, I've been seeing a new water-facing Camping Site (rental) for Visitors / Tourists.

Since recently, I've been recording Tik Tok videos around that area, and loving it. There are villages and villagers around, who don't really care about what you do. I make sure that I don't interfere / intrude into anybody's property. During my lone visit in February 2019, a man named Shivaji met me, and offered me food and stay the next time I visited there.

TIPS:
♦ Do NOT go near deep water;
♦ Do NOT litter and make the beautiful place dirty;
♦ Do NOT convert this into a "drinking" spot;
♦ Carry the things necessary to protect yourself from sun / rain;
♦ Carry a fully charged camera and telephoto (zoom) and wide-angle lenses;
♦ Respect the environment and its natural beauty.
♦ Do NOT enter restricted or secured places or tresspass, just because you're excited. Respect the rules set by others.
